Baltimore Counts!
by Siiri Lise Doub and Wayne Arnold
About the Book
The second book in the city counting series (Louisville Counts!, Nashville Counts!) travels to Baltimore! Baltimore Counts! is a project that assembled 25 Baltimore artists to create artwork about Baltimore trivia. The project will raise money for OrchKids, an initiative created by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Music Director Marin Alsop.
About the Art
The 25 participating artists include Maren Hassinger and Melissa Dickensen (2008 Sondheim finalists), Mina Cheon and Jeffrey Kent, who name among Baltimore’s top 10 artists.
The original works were on display at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall during November, 2010. All proceeds from the book sales and a portion of proceeds from artwork sales go directly to OrchKids.
Oriet Milmoe of Oriet’s Fine Art also arranged a simultaneous exhibition of the contributing artists’ work.
